Our Mission
The Guernica Project seeks to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) by increasing global awareness of the necessity for peace and international cooperation.
It is also our goal to help bring to public attention the efforts of hundreds of organizations worldwide devoted to peace and conflict resolution, and to encourage mutual support, collaboration and coordination.
Our Vision
We believe in the power of music and the arts to deeply affect people’s mindsets and facilitate spiritual development.
We are presenting, through a series of concerts, a specifically commissioned piece that will commemorate the Spanish Civil War and pay homage to its victims, while at the same time help bring healing and closure to its survivors and newer generations.
We seek to do this in a way that will be relevant to all conflicts worldwide, past and present, and thus articulate a symbol for international reflection on the need for peace.
By giving the maximum exposure to this symbol, our goal is to increase global awareness on the subject, and to serve as a catalyst in promoting the efforts of countless organizations throughout the world.
